What's the difference between return and revert in a simple way? 🤔please explain

well to "return" can be about movement back to a place you were originally located or originally from. Examples: I like to return home for the holidays to see my family / I always feel sad when i have to return to work after my lunch break
"revert" is less about movement and more about change. Changing back to some way that you were before or the way that someone was before. Examples: When people get very old they tend to revert to a more childlike emotional state, especially when suffering from dementia / hopefully things will revert back to normal soon after this COVID stuff is over.

I recommend using a good online dictionary such as Cambridge where you will see example sentences along with the definition of the word.
