Hi, everyone I was doing some thinking (can I say "do some thinking? haha) about negation in English and I would like to know if the following sentences can be rewritten in each case as the sentences after the arrow. 1) "He does not speak German OR have a bachelor's degree." -> He does not speak German AND DOES NOT have a bachelor's degree. (either)." or another option: "He does not speak German AND have NO bachelor's degree." 2) "I have a bachelor's degree, but NO Master's." -> "I have a bachelor's degree, but not a Master's" 3) "The study says that a bad family is likely to have stoned kids and NO family meal" -> "The study says that a bad family is likely to have stoned kids and NOT TO HAVE family meal" Thank you very much!

Doing & thinking are two verbs you can't state a verb by verb, instead of saying I was doing some thinking you could simply say " I was thinking " that's much proper. 1) - He neither speaks German, nor having bachelor's degree / He doesn't speak German, and has no bachelor's degree. 2) - I do have bachelor's degree, but not master's, yet. 3) - The studies say, that a bad family is likely to have stoned kids, but doesn't have family meal. Good luck !

The last sentences of 1) and 3) are incorrect. To correct them you could say: He does not speak German and he has no bachelor's degree. The study says that a bad family is likely to have stoned kids and does not have a family meal (together). I hope that helps.
