14/365 It was mostly sunny in Melbourne today. Just a light shower in the afternoon. I mowed my lawn last weekend, but I was unable to finish it as there was something wrong with my mower. Its engine suddenly started smoking by the time I had cut almost the half grass. It can't work well at the moment, so I borrowed my friend's mower and mowed the rest today. The COVID-19 situation is getting from bad to worse in Victoria. The sixth lockdown has lasted more than one month. The daily infections have risen initially from single figures to more than five hundred. It seems like the government has no effective way to contol the spread of COVID-19 in the communities but to urge the eligible people to get vaccinated as soon as possible. However, there are always some stupid people who breach the lockdown restrictions. Hundreds of anti-lockdown protestors have clashed with police in the CBD of Melbourne today. About 10 police officers were injured. More than 200 people were arrested in the protests. It's really terrible. I have no idea about why they marched at this critical moment of lockdown. Maybe they thought COVID-19 was a scam, or they just wanted to be famous. Who knows.
