Hello! Hope you're all doing fine. Question! Reach out to sb means 'ask' or 'offer' help? Do the following sentences make sense? 1- When I need help I usually reach out to a friend. 2- I've reached out to a friend who was going through a rough patch. Thank you!

I would say "reach out to" mean "to contact", but it has a more intimate feeling, usually, as you say, to offer or ask for some kind of emotional help, but also get in touch with someone you might not usually be in contact with.

Both make sense. "Reach out to" just means to contact, for whatever reason.
