in any code what does it mean?? here is a sentence. it was one of the world'd first football clubs in any code. could u help me to understand IN ANY CODE??

There are FIVE different codes of football: a code = set of rules 1. Association football code = soccer 2. Rugby union code 3. Rugby league code 4. American football code = gridiron 5. Australian rules football code There may be a sixth code called "Gaelic football", but I am not too sure about that one. It is one of the world's first football club in any code. The different codes developed in the 19th century. I don't know what order though. Which football club are you talking about?
