undeniably, most of the languages are hard to learn. I would like to recommend you 'Bahasa Malaysia' (Malay) as the lingo can be easily pick up in a short period of time due to its scarcity of vocabulary. Moreover, it is a very phonetic language. The language also use the same alphabets as in English. One of the problematic aspects of the lingo is its myriad of prefixes and suffixes that formed virtually over 70 percents of the words. However, it still remain a easy language to learn-we can simply master it within 1 or most 2 year to a level where you can comfortably read the newspaper and academic materials. Oops, seem I'm out of the subject discussed. Anyway, I would like to reiterate that most of the languages are hard to learn-especially those with ideograms and tonal system like mandarin if you're not a native speaker or never have a rudimentary knowledge of it.

I think the easiest language to learn would be Chinese. I'm not so sure about Khmer, but Korean alphabet might be rather tedious to learn for beginners, as compared to the Japanese alphabet. There are slight differences between Chinese and Japanese characters, but Chinese is bye far the easiest language to learn when compared to Japanese and Korean as it's grammar is the simplest to grasp.

korean and japanese are much more difficult than chinese and korean is one of the most difficult language in the world. The only thing easy in korean is the alphabet but the grammar and pronounciation are very difficult and completely different from european languages. Chinese characters are difficult to learn but learn to read japanese is even more difficult. Japanese has 3 alphabets and each character can have up to five different pronounciations, chinese characters normally has just one or two pronounciations. Chinese grammar is also much easier than japanese grammar.

Korean is the easiest language among the languages you mentioned. And Chinese is the most difficult. It's easy to learn Japanese but hard to study, for the keigo is very complex for learners even Japanese themselves. And the grammar of Japanese is different from Chinese and English. As for Khmer, I don't know about it at all. So I can't offer any useful information to you. That's all
