어쩌라고 This is one of the expressions that are difficult for me to translate into English. It could be translated as “‘What do you want me to do” or “How do you want me do”. ex) 너마저 떠나면 난 어쩌라고 If you are also leaving me, then what do you want me to do? (word for word translation) If you are also leaving me, then what should I do? (IMO, more English-like translation) 어쩌다 This word has two meanings. 1) accidentally; casually; unexpectedly; by chance, by accident ex) 어쩌다 나는 영화배우가 되었다. I became a movie star by chance. 2) occasionally, once in a while, from time to time, now and then, at times ex) 손님은 어쩌다 한 명씩 있을 뿐이다 We only have guests every once in a while. 어쩌면 This word also has two meanings. 1) how ex) 어쩌면 그녀를 만날 수 있을까 How can I meet her? 2) possibly, probably, maybe, perhaps ex) 어쩌면 그가 옳을지도 모른다 Possibly he is right. (He may be right.) 어쩔 수 없어 ~ can’t help it. ex) 일찍 떠나고 싶지 않지만 어쩔 수 없어. I don't want to leave early, but it can't be helped. 어쩌나 What shall I do? ex) 시험에 떨어지면 어쩌나. If I fail in the exam, what shall I do?

영어와 한국어를 동시에 사용해서 설명드리겠습니다 ^^ (I'll give an explanation for each in both English and Korean) 어쩌라고 (equivalent to "so what" in Eng) 약간은 신경질적인 표현인데, 듣기싫은 말을 들고서 대꾸할때 주로 사용합니다. 예를들어 친구분께서 짜증나는 말을 할 때 "어쩌라고"와 같은 반응을 댈 수 있습니다. (It is quite a rude expression. You can say "어쩌라고" when you feel irritated. For instance, your friend annoys you and you may say something like "so what"? ) 어쩌다 어쩌다는 주로 놀람의 표현을 할 때 사용합니다. 예 ㄱ: 나 다리가 부러졌어 ㄴ: 어쩌다! You may want to say "어쩌다" when surprised or shocked. A: I broke my leg B: how come? (I hope I gave you a right example :D) 어쩔수없어 어쩔수없어는 무기력함이나 특정 상황에 다른 대안이 없을 때 주로 사용하는 표현입이다. (you can use "어쩔수 없어" when you virtually have no options but to do something particular. ㄱ: 내일까지 숙제 제출해야돼지? ㄴ: 어쩔수 없이 해야지.. A: You've got homework due tomorrow, right? B: Yeah, I have no option but to get it done today. 마지막으로 '어쩌나'는 '어쩌다'와 거의 동일하게 사용됩니다. 단지 어미가 다를뿐입니다.
