what does "He solicited customers with a simple pitch" mean?
I think I know the meaning but I'm not sure about it. Would you please answer me? Many thanks in advance.

To solicit is to ask for or try to obtain. In this sentence he wants customers.
To pitch in this kind of business sense means to give a brief presentation of the benefits of some thing (in order to sell it) - often an idea ('Pitch an idea') or a product.

pitch means to throw, like a baseball. When you pitch an idea, you are throwing an idea out there for people to think about.
