When do you say "It's getting there."?

Hi. If you are doing some kind of activity, for example a crossword puzzle, a piece of written work, or changing a car tyre, and someone asks you 'How are you doing?' or 'How's it coming along?' then you could answer with 'It's getting there', if you are making some progress with the activity. Tim
