In John Grisham's "Firm", chapter 18, a married woman dated a married man, for business only:
"My husband would not unerstand this situation right here. That's why I chose that dump back there. We never go there."
She said this as if she and her husband were discriminating critics of dark redneck dives.
what does "discriminating critics of dark redneck dives"mean here?

Redneck dives are cheap bars where rednecks go. "Redneck" is a rather insulting term for uneducated country people.
A "discriminating critics of dark redneck dives" would be someone who went to such bars a lot and was able to tell the best ones and were very particular about them.
It is ironic and implies the person would not have good taste.
