What's the difference between was updated, has been updated, and had been updated?
I don't know the difference between the three of them.

Ahhh verb tenses, the bane of English learners. They all mean the same thing however utilize different verb tenses. It all depends on the subject and the phrase that follows. For example, "The computer was updated." and "The computer has been updated." are both correct and have the same meaning but "I was updated" is the only correct way to say that you were updated on something. Verb tenses take lots of time and effort to learn and some native speakers still have trouble with them today.
