Arguments for: -to help your community or a less fortunate country -to feel good about helping others less fortunate than you -to gain experience for a future job , e.g. teaching or medicine -some jobs like being a sports star require volunteering -a rewarding way to build your character -many of them provide parties, food, fun days Arguments against: - you don't have a lot of time -you don't get paid for it -it's dealing with people and some people don't like that as they prefer to work by themselves or just with a computer an illness or a phobia prevents you from doing it

Volunteer work is an opportunity for people to help others. Someone who has time can donate their work to someone who needs assistance. This allows the giver to perform an act of kindness without the need to spend money, or worry that their gift will be misused. However, giving of this kind may cause the receiver to become reliant on the volunteer work. Some people need to do the work themselves so that they can learn how, and provide for themselves.

I think you mean "volunteer" work? Basically, donating your time to help others? Voluntary work makes it sound like you mean that the other option is slavery. So you would be asking for arguments for and against slavery, in that case.
