How to say the following sentence in russian?
I'm a member of a group where people love languages and everyday there's a little "challenge" for us. Yesterday, we had to translate a simple dialogue and of the sentences was "How is your mother doing?". How I'd say that in russian? I thought about "как твоя мама?", but when I googled it, appeared that so not nice expression (if you know what I mean), so I opted by "Как твоя мама поживает?", but the doubt it's still here...

If it's a general question:
Как Ваша (твоя) мама?
Как поживает Ваша (твоя) мама?

Both your variants are right.
Also you can ask "Как дела у твоей мамы?"

Чем занималась твоя мама? Чем занимался твой папа, брат..?
Что делает твоя мама?
