some places in Maldives.
I know some places' name in Dhivehi, and there are many words with -fushi,-dhoo,-furu,-faru,-varu,-nolhu.does those have some certain means, express for river,lake,or mountain?Hope someone can help me

hi Lucy,
they are all suffixs. and used with the Island's name.
it's only used with Island's name and name should come before the suffix.
they actually have no real meaning .. those names derived from our ancistors* .
-dhoo ( island)
-faru ( referring to lagoon)
eg: Nellaidhoo, kurehdhoo, kudafaru
