Can the word "when" be replaced by 는데 within this sentece? "I was sleeping yesterday when I got a call = 난 어제 잤는데 전화를 왔어" ?? If those sentences are the same, can I use 는데 within other sentences similar to this? Thanks!!

Those sentences are not the same. "I was sleeping yesterday when I got a call" -> "어제 전화받았을 때 나는 자고 있었어."
