Is this sentence grammatical?
"He was vomiting and said his stomach was paining".
I always thought that "to have stomachache" is the correct form. Therefore, I would say 'he had stomachache."

Another option is "He was vomiting and said he had a stomachache."

I think it's better to say: his stomach aching. The word "to pain" can be used as a verb, but it is has the meaning: to cause someone unhappiness and it can't be used in the progressive.

More natural sounding would be "He was vomiting and said his stomach was aching"
