"get home after work" or "get home from work"?
Which is correct?
e.g.
When I got home after/from work, my wife was cooking.

We can use both.
I would use "from" but I hear both used frequently, in my experience living and working in Britain and the United States.

I think "When I got home from work" sounds a lot smoother.
