There is a difference between "Gomen ( ごめん ) and Gomen nasai ( ごめん なさい )" in japanese ?

Gomen nasai is a polite form of Gomen.

Gomen= Sorry and Gomen nasai = I am sorry. It is the same structure as Oyasumi (night night) and Oyasumi nasai (Have a good night).
