A task is something that needs to be done, and usually there are groups of tasks that when complete a single goal has been met.
A test is used to evaluate your knowledge of something, similar to an assessment or quiz.

a Task is something that you do, like washing the car, cooking food, washing the dishes or doing a task in class like writing an essay or preparing to demonstrate or participating in a role play. a Test is when the teacher will evaluate your knowledge or skills.
