guys! how can I understand that "Take your own cheese"?

Can you provide more context? Is this literally about cheese, or is it related to a business metaphor? There was a motivational business book a few years ago called "Who Moved My Cheese?"

If your host serves you a meal to which you can add cheese, he/she might put a bowl of cheese in the middle of the table and say 'Take your own cheese'. He/she is inviting you to take as much or as little cheese as you want, to add to your meal. That's the literal meaning. If there's an idiomatic meaning, I've never heard of it.
