Cycling can be short for either bicycling or for motorcycling, so it depends on context. In today's usage, it more often refers to bicyclists. Words that apply to one (bicycle, motorcycle) can also refer to the other, such as bike, biker, cycle, cycler. "I rode my bike to work today. " - - bike can refer either to a bicycle or a motorcycle, and sometimes you have to ask the person which one he or she means. "There's a bunch of bikers in town." - - bikers here can refers to motorcyclists or bicyclists. In the 1960s it would probably refer to guys on motorcycles, nowadays, to either ine. But in today's usage, a "cycling club" refers 99% of the time to a bicycling club. Whereas we also have Moto Cyling club, which refers to motorcycling.

Technically, yes, although you would almost never hear the word 'bicycling' used today. I think that it is an archaic term. 'Cycling' and 'Biking' are both words that have evolved from 'bicycling', and would be the words that you would normally use. Cycling is more formal, biking is more informal.

Bicycling (more commonly known as "biking") is the act of riding a bicycle, whereas "cycling" refers more to the sport of racing bicycles.

'Bicycling' is quite an unusual term which you don't often hear. The normal word is 'cycling'. This can refer to either a simple act of riding your bike to school, or a more serious hobby/recreation, or the competitive sport.
