The first sentence can also mean that the person is trying to hit onto [ make sexual advances] the other person.

"Don't get fresh with me" suggests that someone is being rude or overfamiliar. "Don't get cute with me" suggests that someone is trying to be smart or is toying with the speaker in some way.
