Sometimes the irregular spelling of English words can cause confusion about the pronunciation. Be aware that 'heart' rhymes with these words: art part cart while 'hurt' rhymes with these words: flirt skirt pert So if you can say 'art' and 'flirt' , you can also say 'heart' and 'hurt'. This works whether you choose to pronounce the letter 'r' - as in standard US English - or choose not to pronounce it - as in standard GB English.

in this case the "ea" in "heart" says "あ" sound and the "u" in "hurt" says the "う" sound!^^ If you want to hear it go to "Forvo.com" and search the word to hear a native speak them!

When you think about it in a silly way the "ur" in hurt sounds like "grrrrrrrr" like the sound you make when you imitate a dog growl-errrrrr. "Ear" in heart sounds like the "AAAAARG" that a pirate says! (: I hope that helped!

ear" is pronounced as "a"as if you say hart ; but "ur" can be pronounced at a lesser extent as letter "e" . something else u can know the meaning of the word you hear from the whole sentence (the other words in it ) . I hope I could help .
