waifish (about a girl) Is this word used in Spoken English?

It's not a common word, but there is no reason why you wouldn't use it in spoken English if you wanted to. For example, if you are chatting about how catwalk models look so thin and unhealthy - grown women looking like starved little girls - you might describe them as 'waifish'.
