a little | a little bit | a bit What is right and why? May I keep your car... ...(for?) a little longer? ...(for?) a bit linger? ...(for?) a little bit linger? Is the word "for" necessary here, or wrong?

I think you have misspelled 'longer' as 'linger'. The 'for' is optional. I would use it, possibly in American English it would be less common. All sound fine to me. Both the 'bit' variants are a little ;) informal - but that is OK in the context given. 'A little bit' is obviously minimising the intended time more than 'a bit'.
