When you enter a subway you order a sandwich and then you need to pick some thing to be put between two pieces of bread. There is another kind of cucumber which looks a little bit yellow, what is it? Is it called gherkin?Do people pick ghkerin inside a sandwich?

I think 'gherkin' is a term used more in the U.K.
As far as I'm aware, the U.S and AU/NZ use 'pickle'.

Yes, it's called a pickle in the U.S. The word "ghekin" comes from the German word "Gurken" which means pickle.
