what's the meaning of ??
what's the meaning of " I's gwyne"
"I know what I’s gwyne to do: I’s gwyne to set down here and listen tell I hears it agin.”
in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
Since I havevnever read this book before, my guess is that the line was written to emphasize a southern accent. So what the character is actually saying is, "I know what I'm going to do. I'm going to sit down here until I hear it again."
