If you don't know how to spell a word do you try to avoid writing it at all costs?

Personally, I look it up. I enjoy writing and so I'm very particular about my vocabulary. Of course, there are times when the spelling looks strange or I just can't seem to remember for whatever reason. By refreshing your memory, you correct the mistake and will keep the word as part of your vocabulary rather than losing it by avoiding it.
