Does the sentence (I have a speck of dust in my eye) mean/imply that 'want to knead one's eyes and want to cry'.

I think the author is joking around trying to imply that s/he is teary eyed but doesn't want to admit it. S/he's getting emotional over the Disney movie and it's embarrassing so they're saying "I have something in my eye". Actually I think when I watched that part of the movie I was pretty touched too I might've cried and come up with a similar excuse :)
