Has anyone else studied Spanish at Expanish in Buenos Aires? I am thinking of studying Spanish at Expanish in central Buenos Aires (http://www.expanish.com) as I have heard really good reviews about it - however, I haven´t booked yet and I am open to suggestions. Anywhere in Argentina is fine...

I liked Expanish as well. They are one of the bigger schools in Buenos Aires, which means what they lack in intimacy they make up for in services and facilities. The school is really nice and new, plus they have things like a library, film sessions, and a generally nice, friendly vibe.

Hey Ben, I actually did study there for 2 months and really improved my Spanish. We focused on all areas of reading, writing, and of course conversational Spanish. I was really impressed by the quality of the teachers. Plus with smaller classes, I felt that I was able to really focus on improving my Spanish. Of course I still need more practice!! Downers - have to pay for the coffee and sometimes have to take the stairs, as the elevator sometimes doesn´t want to work. Overall, very pleased. Haven´t studied in other parts of Argentina, but think it would be best to be in BA, as it will give you more time to explore the city. Buena Suerte!

Yes, i studied at Expanish last year for a couple of weeks. My experience of the school was overall very good. Really nice building in the centre of town and nice staff and teachers. I didnt go to any other school but i know people who went to coined another school around the corner and they said it was really disorganised. You can find one on one teachers on Craigslist but i wouldnt recommend this method as there isnt much quality control!!

Sorry, I don't know when the original question about Expanish was posted, but I'd like to respond, having just had some issues with that school. I do not recommend Expanish. I paid up front for 2 weeks of classes (nowhere else in the Spanish language school world are they so pushy about getting paid up front) and came down with a severe flu bug just as I started my classes. I was told that they could not reschedule my time since my place in the classes was already booked and that I could not make up the lost days even though I was sick. I have never experienced this anywhere else. Most schools bend over backwards to accommodate you, esp if you get sick (travelers pick up bugs easily, so it's not unusual for students to get sick). Expanish was super nice and acted very accommodating BEFORE I sent them my money, but after they had the money, they were very inflexible and not helpful at all. Just my experience.
