- Rough time
- Tough time
- John is having a hard/rough/tough time finding a job after getting fired from his last one.

They all mean the exact same thing.
Other options also could be:
-Difficult time
-Challenging time
-Harsh time

Yes they all have the same meaning because it is another way of saying:
"John is having a difficult time finding a job after getting fired form his last one."
