What does "sar" mean in "Morḡ-e saḥar, nāla sar kon"?
According to the translation of the lyrics, the verse means "dawn bird, make a moaning sound". Yet the dictionary gives "head" as the translation for "sar". I also know the saying "Ghese-ye mâ be sar résid, kalâghé be khunash na-résid", which should mean "Our story reached the end, but the crow didn't reach home". Yet what does "sar" mean in this sentence?

"Sar kardan/dâdan" and "[be] sar residan" are both compound verbs. You probably can't find them under "sar" because there are no good Fa-En dictionaries. Here they mean "to start (speaking, complaining, moaning, crying, etc.)" and "to end/expire" respectively.

"sar" here dosen't mean head.
Like "gheseye ma be sar resid", "sar residan" means to finish, to end
And here "sar kardan" means to say, to sing.
