●(お)茶の間: Living + dining room. Room(s) for eating and/or relaxing. Literally, 茶の(tea)間(room/place). ●居間: Living room. Room(s) for relaxing. ●客間: Guest room. Room(s) for talking with guests (friends or business). Not necessarily private rooms for guests. Guests could sleep there as private rooms. These three words would be associated with the Japanese culture. Hope this helps.
