What is the difference between texture and consistency?? "The consistency is terrible." "Eww. The texture of this food gross me out."

Both words can define a quality in a food or drink. Consistency in the context you provided are mostly related to liquids, and consistency defines a firmess, density of a certain soup, juice, batter, drink and what not. The texture of something would be defined by the sense of a touch, so the feel in your mouth, being hard, soft, gritty, crunchy. Hope it made sense!
