How do I say "what's this?" Is it "apa ini?" or "ini apa?"

Hi Tim. Both are correct.
Though "ini apa" has more polite tone when asking something. but you may also use "apa ini" that way.
For me it doesnt matter. we use both in colloquial and formal situation.

Hi Tim! both are correct. you can use those phrase interchangeably. My challenge to you now is how do you differentiate these in Indonesian,
