Andrea
Is there a word /phrase to describe my hair in Mandarin? I have locs (dreadlocks). Google translates "dreadlocks" into "辫子", which isn't really a true translation, I think. If anyone knows an interesting way to describe true dreads/locs in Chinese, I'd really appreciate it. :)

We usually call dreadlocks "雷鬼头",but it sounds punky and we don't use it for self-introduction. “锁子头” (locks) might be more neutral, but it's not as well-known as "雷鬼头". "辫子头" is just okay if you are not trying to make a distinction, but "辫子" is usually considered as single (or double) braid or ponytail.
