Postponing My Lessons... Hello, I have about 5-6 hebrew lessons left on my account but won't be able to take them until at least the fall (Aug/Sept). When I try to reschedule them, the italki system is not allowing it. Is there a way I can reschedule my classes into the fall? I know these lessons are non-refundable so if I can't reschedule, I'll just have to take the loss. I did speak with my teacher and she feels I should try to postpone/reschedule but the italki calendar is not allowing me to do that. Please advise. Thanks, Sonya Levin

Hi Sonya Try sending an email to the Italki support to ask this question. There are a couple of email addresses - I think this one should work: [email protected] If you can't reschedule the sessions for such a distant time, maybe you can reschedule them for a month from now, and then do a second rescheduling before that time arrives, to push them further away in time. I am not sure whether this is feasible, but I think it is possible. Check with the support desk. I have had a situation like this with one of my students and for me it worked. They re-scheduled it twice. As a note of caution, I would not cancel the sessions to get the funds back because if you do that both you and the teacher get a 'disputed session' on your records for each lesson that was cancelled, even if there was no dispute and your teacher agreed. That looks really bad on both your record and your teacher's record. Are the sessions part of a package? Package expiry dates can be extended (only once) when the package is about to expire, as long as both you and your teacher agree. So you could reschedule the lessons to a time closer to the expiry, and then reschedule them again once you get an extension to the package (NOTE - your teacher has to agree for this to be possible). Definitely ask your teacher what he/she suggests you could do. I hope some of these notes are helpful!

Yes, I wrote to italki and they reset my lessons so they could be rescheduled. I think there is also the option of the student asking the teacher for an extension on the lesson. Once approved, the lesson can be scheduled later.
