The meaning of the adjective “slinky” I read a novel by John Irving where the word “slinky” was used several times. I understand the meaning of “slinky” when it’s used about a dress or about movement. But there were a couple of instances where I’m not sure exactly what it means: 1. “She had a slinky figure” 2. “She could imagine how perfect those salmon-pink shoes looked on a slinky blonde.” 3. “She wore a dress of a slinky material.” Thanks a lot for your help!

Slinky can be using for defining very tight material or clingy, figure hugging in fashion. Also you can use it for other materials as well such as slinky string etc.
