How do you say 'call' in Português? There are many meanings for the word call, so I would like to know which verb to use in which context. Please give me a call. I will call you tonight. Which verb would we use for these two phrases? ligar? telefonar? Please call me Ramon. Which verb would we use here? Chamar? Thank you. Furthermore I would like to ask.. how do you say 'major' and 'minor' in Portuguese? Academic Major's and Minors, I mean. For instance, I majored in Linguistics, I had a minor in French. Which words would you use for that in Portuguese? Obrigado!

Please give me a call. - Por favor, me liga. I will call you tonight. - Vou te ligar hoje à noite. Please call me Ramon. - Por favor, me chame de Ramon. As for Major/Minor we don't have this system here in Brazil, let's wait for what the others will say! :)

Just keep in mind that Celso's translation is conversational while Claudiano's is a bit formal.
