Is it OK, 'We spent a good time in the countryside last weekend'? Thanks!

Alexs is right. We don't 'spend' a good time. We 'have' a good time.

Hi Helen. I see you ask a lot of questions here, which is great! If you want to sound more natural in your questions, I recommend preceding them by "Is it OK to say, ..." or "Is this OK?" instead of just "Is it OK, ..." which is not something a native speaker would say. You could also say "Is the following sentence correct?" Good luck, Ted

To me, it sounds more natural if you say: "We had a good time in the countryside last weekend" You can also say "spend a good amount of time" or "spend a good deal of time" if you spend a substantial amount of time doing a task, but I don't think that's what you mean here.

'We had a great time in the countryside last weekend' sounds better.
