Duty-free shops are shops where no taxes are paid on the items that you buy. However, this only applies to when you buy the item. If you take the item to another country, and that country charges taxes for taking the item in, you still have to pay taxes there.

Greetings, Duty-free shops (or stores) are retail outlets that are exempt from the payment of certain local or national taxes and duties, on the requirement that the goods sold will be sold to travelers who will take them out of the country. Hope it helps regards, Deepika
