2017년 02월 26일: Help with indirect quotations
Hi! It's been awhile!
May I ask about the expressions -다고, -자고, -라고, 냐고 하다 forms, since it's a little confusing for me.
I've tried to search more about these expressions and -다고 하다 and -라고 하다 are very common.
Anyway, on my handbook, here is a summary of what is the usage of these:
-다고 하다: Used in an indirect declarative statement.
-자고 하다: Used in an indirectly state what is suggested. (Imperative)
-라고 하다: Used to indirectly report what is suggested. (also imperative)
-냐고 하다: Used in quoting interrogative questions. (Ah, so this is not exactly a question but quoting the question like "He says he is asking you about the missing bag")
But just in case, are these expressions interchangeable?
Thanks in advance.
