precious= super valuable
Valuable is a word that can also be associated with money e.g. "a valuable antique". The word precious is more often used when describing relationships e.g. my mother is precious to me or it can be something that is very important to you personally e.g. a precious ring because it belonged to your deceased grandmother or something like that .
