in the future : 미래에, 앞으로
e.g. I will never do so in the future : 나는 앞으로는 그렇게 하지 않겠습니다.
in the past : 과거에, 옛날에, 이전에
e.g. Deep in the past, people traveled on horseback. : 먼 옛날에, 사람들은 말을 타고 다녔습니다.
