* 동향 - trend. Collective signs of where something is headed, such as opinions or moods, activities, etc. * 경향 - tendency, bent. An inclination or bias appearing in people's or organizations' attitudes, actions, etc. * 성향 - Characteristics or dispositions of a person or group. (Note: 향=direction, tendency. 동=movement, 경=inclination, 성=characteristics, disposition) 성황 is unrelated to the above words as it shares no hanja with the others (성 in 성황 means to thrive or prosper, which is different from 성 in 성향). 성황 describes the way a popular event is progressing successfully drawing a big crowd. Examples: - 주간 경제 동향 - Weekly economic trend/outlook. - 여론의 동향을 살피다 - Watch the trend of the public opinions. - 지나치게 서두르는 경향 = A tendency to rush oneself. - 새 작품은 상업주의적 경향을 보인다 = The new work shows a bent for commercialism. - 친구의 정치적 성향 = Political inclination of my friend. - 그녀는 응석받이로 귀엽게 자라 애정을 독점하려는 성향이 강하다 = Pampered by her parents in upbringing, she has tends to want everyone's affection to herself. - 리셉션은 대성황이었다 = The reception was a great success. - 축제는 성황을 이루었다 [성황리에 끝났다] = The festival drew a big crowd [ended with a resounding success).

동향..means the situation of affair or someone's doing.. for example. "A Look At The Current Military Situation Concerning North Korea" 'James Bond는 적의 동향을 보고 있었다(살피고 있었다)' 경향..means ..some or many people doing(think, buy, traveling, or fashion. etc) same thing..it is trend . '사람들은 쉽게 생각하는 경향이 있다.' '사람들은 스타들을 따라 행동하려는 경향이 있다.' 성황..is another thing. it mean um.. situation of many people likes somethings and flocks in somewhere. like party, event , concert. '파티는 성황리에 마쳤다.'
