What is the difference of "el niño",la niña" to"el chico la chica"? Can you please explain and give. Can you give me sample situations or sentences where I can use them correctly? Thank you!

niño/niña =kid, little boy/girl chica/chica= boy/girl But "niño/niña" can be used in some regions/countries among adults to express love, similar to "baby" or "sweetheart" in English. In some regions in Spain you can say mi niño"/niña" to your boyfriend or girlfriend.:)
