What do you call "soap' in Brazilian Portuguese? Is it "sabão" or "sabonete"? What do you call "soap' in Brazilian Portuguese? Is it "sabão" or "sabonete"? If both of them are used, which is the difference? Which noun is more commonly used? Thank you for your time and help :)

A diferença é bem sutil. Sabonete é utilizado no banho para lavar o próprio corpo e sabão é utilizado para lavar panelas e outros objetos. Sabonete: you use it in the bathroom to take a shower. Sabão: you use it to wash things like pan. You can use sabão to take a bath too, but you never would use sabonete to wash things .
