Hi, Ellen. I experience teaching young kids English everyday. My youngest student is 7 years old.
They are Koreans and we meet Monday to Friday online. Teaching children is very much different from teenagers and adults. You have to be extra patient and understanding, especially when they do not understand something. I always make it a point to include their parents when it's study time. That way, they can observe their children and also help them with things that they don't understand. I don't speak Korean, that's where the parents get involved. They translate for their children, making my job easier in a way.
