Do you mean 'Is outward appearance important to making friends?'
I used to think no. My friends were from the heart, not about what fashion clothes we wore. I scorned beauty.
But then I noticed something interesting. I knew friends who were actually quite dull and ugly, but when they smiled and laughed and looked in your eyes they seemed beautiful.
And then I met people who ought to have been beautiful for their features but who were ruined by the expressions of hatred, ignorance, distrust.
So now I realize that beauty is actually on the inside shining through to the outside. We can call it positive attitude, mental health, etc. And that is all very important to being a good friend, and making friends!
