I would like to know what the difference is between “ take a day off “ and “get a day off “?

Take a day off means you choose to have a day off.
Get a day off means you are allowed (by someone else) to have a day off.

So if you take a day of and you get one there is little to no difference.
But there is 1 major one called perspective.
So in getting a day off someone rewards you with one but in taking one you can choose if you want one or not.
